The E480 refrigeration unit is the heart of the Ozefridge system. The stainless steel case houses the compressor, condensers, electronics, fan, control system, digital temperature read-out, external refrigeration and electrical couplings.
The E480 has an Ozefridge B80 compressor and suits most applications. All E480 twin plate systems are best water cooled.
The E480 condensing unit has all connections and couplings on the right hand side as shown below.
Overall the E480 units are 240mm wide (Plus at least 50mm needed for couplings on right) x 310 deep x 220 high.

1: The Ozefridge 'Sure-Thaw' eutectic controll method.
The digital controller is actually sensing the eutectic mass's temperature allowing the system to refreeze the eutectic mass before cutting off, then thawing correctly (through phase change) before restarting. This ensures it operates truly as a eutectic system.
The controller is easily programmed with memory retention. It has a large LED display along with a compressor run / delay indicator.
2: The left side switch is simply an on / off switch. Off position allows the system to 'Sleep'.
3: The 'Manual / Auto' switch is normally on Auto. Should a controller problem occur or the fridge is being loaded, then 'Manual' is used.
4: The 'Normal / ECO2' switch allows ECO2 mode to be off although it would normally be on so as to provide the power saving benefit.
ECO2 causes the unit to run whenever it senses 240 volt power or that the DC supply has reached 13.5 volts. (Batteries are topped up) Running and storing energy in the eutectic plate(s) while this abundant power is available, reduces demand on battery(s) later.
5: The "Air / Water' switch allows the automatic pump to be turned off during cold periods avoiding over condensing.
6: The green LED is a fault indicator, flashing a sequence if a problem occurs. (Details of the indicater sequence are in the manual)
7: Warning alarm sounds if temperature goes above or below the pre-set temperature parameters.

6: Externally located spike arrestor to clamp and prevent any transient high voltages causing electronic damage.
7: IEC type lead with 2 metre cable to 3 pin plug supplied for AC connection. External terminals for DC power connection.
8. Pump temperature control to prevent over condensing. (Cuts off water pump & fan when not needed)
9. Automatic compressor speed ramp up to maintain highest possible refrigeration output as evaporator temperature lowers.
10. Compressor load is reduced to minimum speed if overload default point is neared. Compressor slows in lieu of default.

This unique triple pass condenser has two separate circuits. One circuit allows cooling (purple & yellow) of the refrigerant like a normal condenser, while the second circuit (green) allows water to cool the actual condenser fins and therefore the refrigerant without having any direct contact with the refrigerant galleries. The common problems of electrolysis destroying systems is eliminated.
Able to operate as an air only condenser or air plus water cooling, ensures proper condensing in any environment especially tropical.
Since Danfoss stopped manufacturing their BD range of compressors, we now only provide systems powered by the proven Ozefridge Hermetic BE80 compressor. This compressor is the same capacity as the now obsolete Danfoss manufactured BD80, and much greater capacity than the old BD50 and BD35. The Ozefridge Hermetic BE80 has a co-efficient factor equal to the BD80.
Using a much larger compressor increases power draw whilst running but a proportionate decrease in running time means that the BE80 does the job much faster without using any more power. This is particularly important now with ECO2 as more unlimited power is converted into stored thermal energy during these periods, resulting in much lower overall demand on battery(s) at later times.
